In somewhat of a surprise, Gov. Phil Bredesen last night signed the guns in parks bill, making it law with the local parks provision still intact.

Scott County Commission is set to vote Monday night to opt out of that provision.

On the Independent Herald’s website, nearly 4 out of every 5 voting on a poll there support the ability for carry permit holders to carry in local parks.
