After redshirting the 2008 season, Aaron Douglas is ready to start his career at Tennessee in an unfamiliar spot in a familiar position.
Douglas helped Maryville High School, just a hop, skip and jump from Neyland Stadium, to four consecutive state championships and a 60-0 record during his tenure there as a tight end, where he caught 44 passes for over 700 yards and four touchdowns his senior year alone. At UT, Douglas will stay on the offensive line but will concern himself more with pass protection than pass catching as he moves from TE to offensive tackle. Douglas was named the Knoxville News Sentinel’s #1 prospect in East Tennessee coming out of high school, and was a two-time Mr. Tennessee in the offensive lineman category.
