Wes Brown, #94
Class: Senior
Hometown: Athens, Ala. (Athens High School)
H/W: 6-4, 256
Position: Defensive tackle
Wes Brown came to Tennessee after a 97-tackle, 10-sack season as a senior at Athens, Ala., where his team advanced to the state semifinals. A member of the 2007 SEC all-academic team after playing in all 14 games, Brown began playing up to his potential in 2008, recording 37 tackles, with 2.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss.
Brown moves to defensive tackle for his senior season, where he was projected to help anchor Ed Orgeron’s defensive front. But he underwent surgery on both knees in April. He’ll have to bounce back in time for the Vols’ season opener against Western Kentucky on Sept. 5.
