Here is a good example of why it doesn’t pay off to go into a fit of road rage when another driver does something to tee you off.

The above picture is of some of the blood lost by Strunk, Ky.’s Aaron D. Baird when he cut an artery in his arm in a Monday morning wreck on U.S. Hwy. 27 in Oneida.

According to witnesses and police documents, the wreck occurred after Baird was taunting the driver of a vehicle in front of him.

Allegedly, the driver of the lead vehicle — a 29-year-old Oneida woman — pulled out in front of Baird, angering him. As the vehicles traveled south on U.S. 27 on the “back side of the 4-lane,” the south-bound lane broke into two lanes, and Baird pulled along-side the other driver to make gestures at her. It’s further alleged that he twice swerved at the driver as if to hit her. On the second occasion, the lead driver braked to avoid a collision, and witnesses say Baird lost control of his vehicle, crossed the north-bound lane, struck a guard rail, traveled back across the roadway, struck the lead vehicle, and then spun out to come to rest in the north-bound lane. In the process, witnesses said he was nearly ejected from the vehicle, seriously cutting his arm.

Baird was transported to St. Mary’s of Scott County ER, along with his wife and two small children in his vehicle (ages 6 and 10).

To add insult to injury, criminal charges await him upon his release from the hospital.
