Here’s exactly what Whoopi is talking about: In March 1977, the 44-year-old Polanski fed a 13-year-old girl champagne and a sedative, forced himself on her and anally raped her, according to the girl’s grand jury testimony. He was convicted of a lesser charge — statutory rape — because he agreed to plead guilty.
Stay classy, Hollywood.

It amazes me beyond imagination how those creeps try to justify this piece of trash. I just cannot fathom how depraved their minds are to defend one who did the things he did.
It proves, in my mind at least, the despicable lack of morality of Holliwood. This man was 44 years old when he drugged this 13 year old girl and raped her while she was begging him to stop. Your description of what he did was not complete and I am not going to go into detail here but what he did was totally despicable.
I have no respect whatsoever for anyone who defends him now. He has lived a life of ease and prosperity and they call it “punishment”? Amazing. Of course I lost any respect for Goldberg a long time ago. She is disgusting.
I think this outpouring of support for such a vile man should prove to us all what type of people make up the majority of the “arts” world. Any person who can support such a man deserves no respect from a civil society regardless of their artistic ability.
It is comforting to find out that the French people are similar to the American people in their condemnation of this man. We first heard about the support he was receiving from the French politicians but now it turns out that the majority of French people condemn him as he deserves. Now many of the French politicians are speaking out in condemning him.
