??????? That’s just weird….

What’s next? An on-site mortuary?….the marketing possibilities are virtually endless.

Common guys, people posting on this blog are supposed to be smarter than this. What’s weird about Walmart offering their customers value? Different maybe and unheard of but not “weird”. That’s what Walmart was invented for and the reason for their success. I’m glad to see it. The funeral business is one of the biggest rip-offs around. Not as bad in the last few years maybe since the laws were changed to allow competition in the casket side of the business.
Let the funeral people charge honestly and compete with what they do: preparing the bodies of the dead for their last meeting with the living and conducting the funeral services. Let caskets be provided by the venue that produces the best value for the consumer.
That’s the way every product or service should be provided. It makes everyone’s life better in the long run - we have more “stuff” and enjoy life better because we are all made more wealthy. I have said it before about Walmart: Millions of people have more because of Walmart. Consumer goods that would be way out of reach of a lot of people are made affordable because of Walmart. They are the best at what they do.
You can fuss about certain things about Walmart and a lot of people, including yours truly do, but don’t loose sight of the benefits Walmart has provided. Weighed in the balance their positives far outweigh their negatives in terms of the effect on society.

And it gets even better when you look closely at their site. 12 month free financing! Now you can bury uncle Joe in the finest box and pay for it by the month without paying any interest.
A good deal for sure - think I’ll buy mine and store it in the barn while they are cheap.
Hey wait a minute - just had an idea. We saw someone returning several identical items to a store recently and what’s her name commented that the lady probably bought them on sale to sell them in a flea market and when they didn’t sell she was returning them. So why couldn’t a person buy up a bunch of these cheap “beautiful” caskets and sell them at the gravel pit in Helenwood on Saturdays? People could see what they were buying (a lot of people don’t like to buy something they can’t see in person). In fact they could even lay down in ‘em and try ‘em out. Kind of like “Hey momma, do you think I look good in this contraption?”
Darn! I have the best ideas.

Uh oh. I just thought of something. What’s Walmart going to do when someone pushes a casket up to the service desk to get their money back because they didn’t like the way Aunt Sally looked in it?

No, it’s definitely weird. It proves that there’s nothing that Walmart won’t sell. Talk about preparing the bodies…in 15 or 20 years, Walmart will probably be offering embalming services.

And if he does caskets like he does other Walmart products I know one certain person who will try to dig up the casket and return it to the store to get his money back after he uses it.

Oh flitterisms! “Weird”?
People normally want to bury their loved ones in the best they can afford. If Walmart is in the business you can bet they’ll be able to afford a much nicer product for the same money.
October 31st, 2009 at 9:45 am
Correction: They’ll be able to afford a cheaper version of the same product for less money.

no
It is a fact that Walmart has made it possible for even middle class people to have much more than they did before Walmart.

Sounds like somebodies drinkin’ the Wal-Mart Kool Aid! You sure you don’t work for them twice guessing? Sure sounds like you might be a brain washed Wal-Mart employee……..
